Welcome to Stained !

Relax while I stain your skin in pretty patterns using all natural henna I make myself.
Consider it therapy. Meditation. Contemplation.
Consider it "you" time. Consider it an aromatherapy experience.
Choose a design that symbolizes an element you want to bring into your life.
Bring balance. Calm. Connect with the Earth.
You can hug a tree.....or get henna.

What is henna?

So what is henna exactly?
The short story : henna is a plant that is dried and powdered . When I mix powdered henna with acidic liquids like lemon juice , and fragrant essential oils like cajaput and lavender, it becomes a paste which I can use to draw or paint onto the body.
Want the long story?
Visit  http://www.hennapage.com/
scroll down a bit and you have access to all the info about henna you could ever want.

Real henna is never black !
Henna is one color only (dark reddish brown) which appears slightly different on everyone depending on their skin color. If the henna appears black when the artist applies it, it is a poisonous dye called PPD that could leave permanent scarring.

What is in my henna ?

Whether you receive henna body art from me or another artist, you must ask what is in the paste. Don't assume its natural because they said so, ask to know the ingredients. It's YOUR responsibility to avoid an itchy experience!
My paste can include at any time:
  • powdered henna (mostly cert.org)
  • lemon juice
  • sugar
  • cert. organic cajaput oil
  • cert. organic lavender oil
occasionally,

and as an aromatherapy TREAT,
I add rose geranium, frankincense, and/or rosewater.

I know at all times what is in my paste.
